Mill Green Brewery
Mill Green Brewery is a multi award-winning forward-thinking, but traditional brewery situated behind The White Horse Inn Edwardstone, Suffolk.
We are crafters of flavoursome and unique real ales that have distinct character. Our brewing ethos is to use a broad range of interesting ingredients, using methods and techniques that mimic the ancient way of brewing, but using the most technologically advanced equipment. This enables us to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and thus limit our impact on the environment. We get our power from the sun and a giant wood boiler, we source our malt localy and we put lots of hops in our beer! We even grow some of our own organic malt and hops just 3miles away, and have our own water supply from a borehole beneath the beer-garden!
Real ales by their nature are diverse in flavour, aroma, appearance, and personality. It is only large industrial scale brewers who differ from this, producing bland and unimaginative brews where lowering production costs is the major priority, and where taste is barely a consideration.
At Mill Green we have a range of sustainably brewed excellent real ales. Our beers vary from dark and fruity to pale and aromatic. Our permanent mild 'Mawkin Mild' is only 2.9% abv but bursting full of flavour, and recognised as 'The Best Mild Ale' in East Anglia in 2009. On the other hand our 4% Loveley's Fair is light, hoppy and a real favourite throughout the year. Please see our 'Awards' page to see more examples of our achievements, and see our 'Eco' page to learn more about our Green Credentials.
We sell our eco ales to a number of local pubs and beer-festivals, but permanently stock The Fleece Hotel in Boxford, and The White Horse in Edwardstone.
